Dr Jamie Mervyn Lim

Dr Jamie Mervyn Lim is the Chief Executive Officer of Ren Ci Hospital (RCH) since January 2023. Prior to joining RCH, Dr Lim was the Chief Operating Officer at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Central Health for 8 years where he oversaw a wide range of portfolios from clinical services to operational service support. Before TTSH, he held leadership roles with the civil service and other healthcare institutions.

Dr Lim is a recognised leader in Systems Thinking and Value Driven care; having spearheaded institution & national committees and receiving awards for the work done. 

Dr Lim graduated from King’s College London, UK under a government scholarship and attended Wharton Business School. He pursued his doctorate in the area of Physiology at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Chief Operating Officer

Ms Karen Bek

Karen graduated from National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and holds a Masters of Business Administration specialising in Healthcare Management from NUS. She spent more than 12 years in managing corporate planning, operations and development work in public healthcare institutions. Before joining Ren Ci, Karen transitioned herself through primary, acute and community care settings where she garnered a deep understanding of the entire healthcare landscape in Singapore.

Clinical Director

Dr David Ng

A member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom since 2013, David holds a Master of Medicine and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. In his early days, David did his house officer postings in various acute hospitals locally.

He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Senior Residency in Geriatric Medicine with the National Healthcare Group. With more than 12 years of experience, David is also a Consultant in the Department of Geriatric Medicine in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Dr David assists to help oversee the various departments under the Clinical Director’s Office.

Chief Nurse

Mdm Kuttiammal D/O Sundarasan

Mdm Kutti started out her nursing career as a junior nurse in the late 1970’s. She went on to pursue a nursing degree from the University of Sydney (Bachelor of Health Science, Nursing) followed by a Master of Health Science in Management. Prior to joining Ren Ci, she spent many years in public hospitals in various capacities, including hospital planning as well as Director of Nursing. An accomplished clinician, she also served as consultant for Brunei’s MOH for the RIPAS hospital rebuilding project during 2006 to 2008.

Executive Director, Ren Ci @ Ang Mo Kio

Mr Darren Au Yeong

Prior to joining Ren Ci, Darren was double hatting as the Head of Operations & Centre Director with Vanguard Healthcare. As Head of Operations, he provided oversight on the operations for Vanguard’s 5 Residential Care Facilities. Concurrently as Centre Director for Vanguard Senja Home, he was responsible for the day to day running of the facility, which was integrated with a Polyclinic, Senior Care Centre, Community Rehabilitation Centre and a Residential Care Home. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Darren worked with MOH to set up the National Cohorting and Decantment Centre (NCDF). Darren graduated from Cardiff University of Wales with a Bachelor Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and holds a Master Business Administration from Strathclyde Business School.

Executive Director, Ren Ci @ Bukit Batok St. 52

Mr Lim Kong Beng

Kong Beng holds a Master of Physiotherapy (Gerontology) in 2000 and graduated from Bachelor of Physiotherapy, in 1998, from Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia. He joined Ren Ci Hospital in 2012 as a Principal Physiotherapist and was appointed as Deputy Manager of the Rehab department. Kong Beng led the coordination of services among the allied health professionals and training for the professional development of Rehab staff. In 2016, Kong Beng took sabbatical leave to pursue his PhD in Physiotherapy (The Effects of Balance-Walking) with the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Science, Tehran, Iran. He returned to Ren Ci Hospital in October 2021 and was appointed as the Deputy Head of Ren Ci Rehab department. Professionally, Kong Beng has developed himself through formal education and a wide variety of clinical programmes. He has a deep passion for the ILTC sector and is determined to contribute further in serving the vulnerable elders in our community.

Executive Director, Ren Ci @ Woodlands

Mr Choo Jui Sheng

Jui Sheng started his career in the ILTC sector in Feb 2019 with Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) as the Head of Primary Care Department. Jui Sheng later progressed to be the Head of Policy group in the AIC Silver Generation Office in Sept 2021. He had successfully conceptualized and implemented several transformational initiatives, such as the national team-based care model to strengthen patient care between GPs and ancillary care providers. He also enhanced nurse counselling protocols to improve the quality of care for chronic patients. Jui Sheng completed his Master of Business Administration from University of Nottingham, Master of Science and Engineering Science (Mechanical Engineering) from Naval Postgraduate School, USA, and Master of Science in Defence Technology and Systems from National University Singapore.

Executive Director, Ren Ci Learning Academy and Director, Operations

Mr Ong Eng Hua

Eng Hua holds a Master of Science in Engineering from University of Michigan. He has 25 years of experience in the Armed Forces and was the Head of Engineering Group in the Navy before he left. Eng Hua was the Director, Corporate Services overseeing QSM, Corporate Development and Special Projects in Ren Ci Hospital before he assumed the role of Executive Director, Ren Ci @ Bukit Batok St. 52. He is currently Executive Director, Ren Ci Learning Academy and Director, Operations

Senior Consultant and Director of Clinical Quality Management Unit

Dr Kalaimamani D/O Kanagasabai

Joined Ren Ci in 2006, Dr Kala is trained in Family Medicine and Community Geriatrics and Rehabilitation and has over 22 years of experience in community geriatrics practice in community hospitals. Her broad scope of experience spans across acute hospital care, community hospital care and nursing home and centre based care. Her passion lies in care of the elderly in the community. Equipped with extensive experience in infection control, patient safety and clinical quality, Dr Kala oversees Clinical Quality Improvement (QI) and Assurance as well as Patient Safety at Ren Ci. She has been key in the Quality Journey of Ren Ci having led many important QI initiatives and projects that has led to better and safer care for our patients. Dr Kala holds an MBBS, MMED Family Medicine (Gold Medal), Graduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine (Book Prize) from NUS.

Director of Finance

Ms Jean Quak Jin Fen

Jean has extensive experience in Finance in the private sectors. Before joining Ren Ci in 2007, she has worked in the construction, ship management, wellness and retail industry, handling a wide facet of finance functions. As Finance Director, Jean oversees finance department and business office administration. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore. She is an ACCA affiliate and a Chartered Accountant (Singapore).

Director of Human Resource and Manpower Development

Ms Nuryasmin Hannah

Yasmin has close to 20 years of experience in human capital management, of which 11 years was in the Social Service Organisation – AWWA Ltd, before joining Ren Ci Hospital as the Director of Human Resource and Manpower Development in June 2018. Her broad scope of experience comprises HR consulting, recruitment, manpower planning and performance management. Assisting the Chief Executive Officer, she leads and manages HR initiatives in the organisation by strategically aligning with business objectives. Yasmin graduated with a Bachelor of Science from University of London and holds a postgraduate diploma in HR and organisational Psychology from Singapore Human Resources Institute as well as Business Strategy for HR leaders focused in Business Strategy from INSEAD.

Deputy Director, Community Engagement

Mr Philip Sim

Philip has worked in various established organisations such as NTUC, Republic Polytechnic, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Communications & Information, Ministry of Transport and Prime Minister’s Office, with leadership roles in Communications. At MOH, he was involved in the national communications rollout for MediShield Life and was part of the crisis management team for H1N1 (2019) and Ebola (2014). He was also a lecturer at Republic Polytechnic.

Philip graduated from NUS with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Political Science. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from NUS and a Master’s Degree in War in the Modern World from King’s College London.

Head, Corporate Services and Assistant Director of Finance (Special Projects)

Ms Dawn Chan

Dawn spent more than 12 years in market research roles and corporate communications before she joined Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) in 2015. She grew her career professionally and took on duo portfolios to manage and lead the TTSH Value Management Unit (VMU) and Quality Service Management (QSM). She worked closely with clinicians, finance and operations to drive and support value related work for the hospital. Dawn also sits in the MOH Value Committee as an alternate member to COO, TTSH. Under her leadership, her department spearheaded the Value strategy for the hospital and played a leading role for the acute sector. Dawn graduated from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) with a Bachelor of Business in Business Administration.

Head, Psychosocial Services

Ms Bridget Monica Das

Bridget joined as a Medical Social Worker at Ren Ci Hospital in 2010 and she was promoted to become the head of the Social Work and Counselling Department in 2014 which presently is the Psychosocial Services Department. Her experience is seen in 3 main areas – Family Service Centre, Church Pastoral Care and Medical Social Work within the ILTC sector and her specialized areas of training include Emotionally Focused Therapy, Expressive Therapies For Transforming Emotions Through Symbolic Expressions and Play of Life. Bridget graduates with a Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences majoring in Social Work and Southeast Asian Studies and holds a postgraduate diploma in clinical supervision.

Head, Rehab Department

Ms Nur Amalina

Amalina joined Ren Ci as a Senior Physiotherapist and was later appointed as Deputy Head, Rehabilitation in September 2018. She assumed the role of Head, Rehabilitation on 1 April 2019. With her many years of clinical experience and strong leadership ability, she continues to lead the Rehabilitation team to offer excellent services to our patients and residents with heart and hope.
